25 Ekeremor CDC Chairmen Stage Walkout, Reaffirm Support for Senator Dickson

By Gabriel Ukuta Ekeremor, Bayelsa State – Tension flared yesterday at the Ekeremor Agenda Meeting held in Ekeremor main town, as 25 Community Development Committee (CDC) Chairmen staged a dramatic walkout in protest against what they described as an “alleged zoning agenda” being pushed by a self-acclaimed political group. The CDC Chairmen, who represent communities across Ekeremor Local Government Area, said their decision to exit the meeting was borne out of loyalty and solidarity with Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, the Senator representing Bayelsa West. Shortly after the walkout, the Chairmen convened a press briefing where they reiterated their unwavering support for Senator Dickson’s reelection bid. They insisted that his track record of quality representation, people-oriented leadership, and consistent advocacy for Bayelsa West made him the right choice to continue at the National Assembly. “Supporting Senator Dickson’s reelection is a step in the right direction,” the CDC l...

Dickson’s Love for Humanity Endears Him to His People

By Gabriel Ukuta  In Bayelsa West and across Bayelsa State, one name continues to echo with warmth, gratitude, and unshakable loyalty: Senator Henry Seriake Dickson. To his people, he is not just a politician or public office holder; he is a father, a bridge builder, and a servant-leader who has never forgotten his roots. From his days as Governor to his current role in the Senate, Dickson has remained steadfast in one mission—to lift his people, empower the weak, and give hope to the hopeless. Even when the state faced one of the harshest recessions in Nigeria’s history, and resources were painfully scarce, Dickson never abandoned his vision. He tightened his belt and stretched the little that came into the state to bring visible development. Schools, hospitals, roads, and bridges sprang up under his watch, turning Bayelsa into what many called “a construction site,” even in the face of economic hardship. But what endears Dickson most to the people is not just the concrete project...

Concrete Legacy: How Dickson Reshaped Bayelsa’s Future.

By Gabriel Ukuta, Lawson Ebinyo Ayamah When Senator Henry Seriake Dickson took the oath of office as Governor of Bayelsa State on February 14, 2012, he made a bold promise: to transform Bayelsa into a modern state and a hub of development. Eight years later, his Restoration Government left behind what many now call a “concrete legacy”—a Bayelsa that had literally become a construction site, dotted with world-class facilities in roads, education, healthcare, agriculture, public service, and more. His administration delivered prudent Management and Practical Leadership. Dickson distinguished himself by resisting political extravagance and fanfare. Unlike many leaders who thrive on elaborate commissioning ceremonies, he quietly completed people-oriented projects and put them to use without unnecessary publicity.  Even at a time when Nigeria was in the grip of a deep economic recession. Oil revenues—the lifeblood of Bayelsa’s economy—had plummeted, leaving the state with meager ...

Reasons why Political Actors Detract from Senator Dickson

By Gabriel Ukuta In a political terrain that is often characterized by lofty promises, unfulfilled pledges, and leaders who drift away from their people once elected into office. Senator Henry Seriake Dickson in the midst of this familiar pattern, has carved out a reputation that sets him apart: he is a promise-keeper, a leader who matches words with action, and a representative deeply rooted in the lives of his people. This unique approach to politics is precisely why certain political actors in Bayelsa West often attempt to detract from his leadership. His style of governance and representation is not built on empty slogans but on visible results, loyalty to his people, and consistency in fulfilling his commitments. Such authenticity in leadership naturally unsettles those whose politics thrives on deception and opportunism. At the National Assembly, Senator Dickson has continued to distinguish himself. His voice is firm and consistent on issues that concern not only Baye...
