25 Ekeremor CDC Chairmen Stage Walkout, Reaffirm Support for Senator Dickson

 By Gabriel Ukuta

Ekeremor, Bayelsa State – Tension flared yesterday at the Ekeremor Agenda Meeting held in Ekeremor main town, as 25 Community Development Committee (CDC) Chairmen staged a dramatic walkout in protest against what they described as an “alleged zoning agenda” being pushed by a self-acclaimed political group.

The CDC Chairmen, who represent communities across Ekeremor Local Government Area, said their decision to exit the meeting was borne out of loyalty and solidarity with Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, the Senator representing Bayelsa West.

Shortly after the walkout, the Chairmen convened a press briefing where they reiterated their unwavering support for Senator Dickson’s reelection bid. They insisted that his track record of quality representation, people-oriented leadership, and consistent advocacy for Bayelsa West made him the right choice to continue at the National Assembly.

“Supporting Senator Dickson’s reelection is a step in the right direction,” the CDC leaders declared. “We call on all Bayelsa West people to rally behind him and reject the antics of nay-sayers and political detractors who are only motivated by selfish interests.”

The Chairmen emphasized that the people of Bayelsa West had benefited immensely from Senator Dickson’s efforts, both during his tenure as Governor and as a sitting Senator, noting that his human-centered approach to governance sets him apart from his critics.

They further dismissed the zoning campaign as a distraction aimed at destabilizing the unity of the senatorial district, urging communities across Bayelsa West to stand firm in defense of effective representation.

Reasons why Political Actors Detract from Senator Dickson

By Gabriel Ukuta In a political terrain that is often characterized by lofty promises, unfulfilled pledges, and leaders who drift away from their people once elected into office. Senator Henry Seriake Dickson in the midst of this familiar pattern, has carved out a reputation that sets him apart: he is a promise-keeper, a leader who matches words with action, and a representative deeply rooted in the lives of his people. This unique approach to politics is precisely why certain political actors in Bayelsa West often attempt to detract from his leadership. His style of governance and representation is not built on empty slogans but on visible results, loyalty to his people, and consistency in fulfilling his commitments. Such authenticity in leadership naturally unsettles those whose politics thrives on deception and opportunism. At the National Assembly, Senator Dickson has continued to distinguish himself. His voice is firm and consistent on issues that concern not only Baye...
