God's Kingdom Society Celebrates Freedom Day in Yenagoa

 By Ebikiye Benson

Believers and followers of Christ have been charged to conduct themselves in line with Christian values, strive for moral purity, humility, be spiritually vigilant and rededicated to Godly principles, stating that Jesus Christ died to give mankind freedom.

This charge was given as the various branches of God’s Kingdom Society, GKS, Church of the Living God, Bayelsa State chapter gathered to observe the 2025 Freedom Day.

Teaching on the sermon title 'When was Jesus Christ born?, Brother Godson-Okechukwu Nadi, the Resident Minister of Yenagoa, said the Freedom Day is a solemn and spiritually focused event commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ. Celebrated throughout the Sundays in October across all GKS branches globally, the Day highlights the significance of Christ’s birth, His mission on earth, and the moral and spiritual transformation expected of Christians.

He emphasized that the essence of the celebration lies in understanding the liberating power of Christ’s life and teachings.

Brother Nadi charged members to use the occasion not as a mere commemoration, but as a personal call to align their lives with the character and teachings of Jesus Christ.

Also speaking, Bro Felix Ikperhe, the Chairman GKS Yenagoa Zone, explained that Freedom Day was a reminder that Christian life is a continuous journey of moral discipline.

He urged believers to examine themselves honestly, resist spiritual complacency, and remain vigilant against sin and worldly distractions.

Sis. Ruth Ouserigha, the Vice Chairperson, GKS Yenagoa branch, further charged followers of Christ to go beyond outward religious participation and embrace inward spiritual transformation, making their faith visible not just during church programs, but in everyday behavior and decision-making.

Bro David Ukuta, the Secretary, GKS Azikoro branch, encouraged youths to rise above societal pressures and live distinctive Christian lives, modeling righteousness, integrity, and biblical convictions in their conduct, choices, and peer interactions.

Mr. Fred Obuah, an invitee, called on all Christians to dedicate time to learn from the word of God, noting that it is the guideline to live a worthy Christian life

Reasons why Political Actors Detract from Senator Dickson

By Gabriel Ukuta In a political terrain that is often characterized by lofty promises, unfulfilled pledges, and leaders who drift away from their people once elected into office. Senator Henry Seriake Dickson in the midst of this familiar pattern, has carved out a reputation that sets him apart: he is a promise-keeper, a leader who matches words with action, and a representative deeply rooted in the lives of his people. This unique approach to politics is precisely why certain political actors in Bayelsa West often attempt to detract from his leadership. His style of governance and representation is not built on empty slogans but on visible results, loyalty to his people, and consistency in fulfilling his commitments. Such authenticity in leadership naturally unsettles those whose politics thrives on deception and opportunism. At the National Assembly, Senator Dickson has continued to distinguish himself. His voice is firm and consistent on issues that concern not only Baye...
