BAYELSA WEST YOUTH LEADERS CALL FOR UNITY, ORDER, PROGRESS

In support of Senator Seriake Dickson, youth leaders of various communities in Sagbama Local government area have called for unity, order and progress in Bayelsa West.

A statement jointly signed by representatives of Ofoni, Angalabiri, Toru-Orua, Bolou-Orua, Ebedebiri and Angiama communities lauded the quality representation of Senator Dickson, his dedication to the welfare of the people of the district, Bayelsa State and Ijaw Nation at large right from his house of representative days till present.

The group stated further that elections in the district has never been zoned to any local government area, stressing that every son of the district has only exercised their franchise by contesting for the National assembly elections which is subject to the votes of the people. However, it stated that the only principle existing in the district is that of fairness, that does not allow for a local government to produce both Senate and House of Representatives Member for the district at a time.

The statement refuted claims of an existing zoning formular in Bayelsa west senatorial district, calling on sons and daughters of the district to remain focused and resist distraction or misinformation.

It called for collective efforts in rejecting bad leaders who have denied the people access to basic amenities, security, quality education, healthcare, infrastructure, portable drinking water and youth and women empowerment.

It informed that the incumbent representatives of Bayelsa West senatorial district in both the red and green chambers are ranking members who are strategically positioned to advance the interest of Bayelsa west and Ijaw nation adding that the district needs experienced voices to represent it.

It urged all in the senatorial district to collectively work for the unity, peace and progress of the people.

Reasons why Political Actors Detract from Senator Dickson

By Gabriel Ukuta In a political terrain that is often characterized by lofty promises, unfulfilled pledges, and leaders who drift away from their people once elected into office. Senator Henry Seriake Dickson in the midst of this familiar pattern, has carved out a reputation that sets him apart: he is a promise-keeper, a leader who matches words with action, and a representative deeply rooted in the lives of his people. This unique approach to politics is precisely why certain political actors in Bayelsa West often attempt to detract from his leadership. His style of governance and representation is not built on empty slogans but on visible results, loyalty to his people, and consistency in fulfilling his commitments. Such authenticity in leadership naturally unsettles those whose politics thrives on deception and opportunism. At the National Assembly, Senator Dickson has continued to distinguish himself. His voice is firm and consistent on issues that concern not only Baye...
