Hensard University Hosts Communication Strategist Chido Nwakanma For 'Industry Meets Academia Webinar'

  Hensard University, Toru Orua, Bayelsa State, will host renowned journalist, communication strategist, and marketer, Mr. Chido Nwakanma, as the guest expert for the second edition of its monthly ‘Industry Meets Academia Series’ webinar. OFURUMAPEPE YOUTHS GROUP COMMENDS BAYELSA WEST FOR SUSTAINING PEACE AND UNITY

   TheDirector General of the Ofurumapepe Youths Group, Hon. Preye Okoriye, has commended the people of Bayelsa West Senatorial District for their steadfast commitment to peace, unity, and progress, as well as their continued support for Senator Seriake Dickson. He urged them to remain resolute in backing the quality representation the district has enjoyed under the lawmaker. Hon. Okoriye made this remark during a meeting with all Ward Coordinators of Sagbama Local Government Area. BAYELSA BEGINS ENFORCEMENT OF NEW COLOUR CODE FOR COMMERCIAL MINI- BUSES

 by Toyyib Omowale  The Bayelsa State Government has announced the commencement of enforcement of its new regulation directing all commercial mini bus operators to paint their vehicles in the state’s official colours and display valid MOT numbers. According to a statement by Hon. Ayebaekiepreye Brodrick, Commissioner for Transport, the six‑week compliance deadline expired on Thursday, 31st July 2025. The Commissioner warned that it is now an offence for any mini bus operator who has yet to comply with the directive to continue operating on Bayelsa roads. He advised defaulters to stay off the road until they meet the requirements, in their own interest. Hon. Brodrick further disclosed that defaulting operators risk having their vehicles impounded and will be subjected to a fine of 100,000 naira. She stressed that enforcement would begin immediately and without further warning.

BAYELSA ASSEMBLY COMMENDS STATE GOVERNMENT FOR LANDMARK ROAD AND INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS.

  by Toyyib Omowale  Members of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly Committee on Works have commended the state government, through the Ministry of Works, for its landmark road and infrastructure projects across the state. Speaking on Day Three of the six‑day oversight inspection tour of project sites, which include the 25,000‑seater capacity stadium at Igbogene, the Polako‑Sabageria Bridge, and the 7.5‑kilometre Gloryland Drive Phase Three.  Briefing newsmen on the progress made, Retired Colonel Bernard Kenebai, Chairman of the Committee disclosed that about 2.5 kilometres of the Gloryland Drive Phase Three have been asphalted, with a stone base completed for about four kilometres, while sand filling is left for the remaining two kilometres. On the Polako‑Sabageria Bridge, Colonel Kenebai said the project is 80% completed, with a timeline for completion set for December.
